No special preparation is required to experience after-death communication. The deceased can contact us whenever they want. Sometimes in difficult situations they will contact us to warn us to stand by us.
Occasionally they lead us, guide our ways in a certain direction – to our advantage, as it turns out later. Often, they show us their presence in small signs to show us that I am here with you, I love you. Sometimes a deceased appears in a dream.
During the two days before my husband’s death, I perceived my mother, who had died two years earlier, very closely and felt her love and support. At the time, I was convinced that my husband would convalesce – she apparently knew better.
But we can also initiate contact with the deceased, ask them for help, for a sign, for inspiration. Tune in to the deceased, feel the love for him/her. Love is the connecting us to one another.
In the state of presence (see blog post December 2020: Being present), ask the deceased to get in touch with you. Generally, the deceased appear younger and more energetic than at the time of death, especially if they died old and/or sick.
Possibilities of perception
You can perceive the deceased in different ways. By sensing, feeling, seeing the deceased – with your inner or physical eyes, hearing – internally or more rarely, externally, through dreams, or through a smell that is suddenly present and reminds you of the deceased. Or you get small signs in the outside world that remind you of the deceased.
Writing is also a good medium to get in touch with the deceased – ask a question and write down what the deceased has to say. At the beginning you may be unsure whether this really comes from the deceased. Just write down everything that comes to mind. You can analyze it later. For me, the best time to write is early in the morning or in the evening before bed. Devote a certain amount of time to contact with the deceased.
As soon as you consider the possibility of such events, you open yourself to the perception of the deceased.
