There are moments when I feel deeply happy. I have many beautiful experiences with my husband, especially through the Mediumship and Trance courses. Sometimes we have fun, often we feel joy, and sometimes very deep happiness. I am infinitely grateful that we can experience this together.
That makes me – once again – ponder happiness. Aren’t we always missing something to be happy? Either we lack a partner, or children, a fulfilling job or a job at all, health, friends … the list is long.
Perhaps we should distinguish between different forms of happiness. First there is the small happiness that quickly passes. For example, spontaneously eating a piece of cake in a coffee house. Then there is greater, more intense happiness, and that too only lasts for a while. Anyone who has ever fallen in love knows – that too will pass, it changes. We get used to it.
Happiness always seems to be related to an increase in energy level (with cake also in weight, but that rarely brings feelings of happiness). Additional energy that balances out existing lack of energy in other areas of life. After a while, the flow of energy is reduced again, or we get used to the higher energy level, it becomes normal, and we look for new happiness.
Moments of happiness
Therefore, happiness cannot be permanent, and it is helpful to be aware of it. So, cherish happiness when it is in your life and make memories of it. A souvenir from vacation, a photo from a nice experience … Selfies have a good place here. When you go through a difficult time again, look at the memories and know that happiness has already been in your life and will also come back. It wasn’t until late that I realized how important it is to create beautiful memories. My mementos are all the more valuable to me.
Think about how you can bring more happy moments into your life. It has to be something that increases your energy levels that you don’t do regularly – otherwise you will get used to it. Write down a list that includes a few alternatives for every season and any weather conditions. Above all, it should be little things, the little joys of everyday life that can be easily implemented. As a reminder, hang the list in a place where you will see it often – and use it.
