Part of a course I took in August was a Vision Quest. This is an ancient rite of passage that connects the seeker to the visible and the invisible world and provides a path to enter the spiritual realm. The vision may contain nature and animal symbolism and the seeker may meet their power animal. The full understanding of the vision may come right after the vision, or it may take some days or weeks.
Before the Vision Quest, it is important to be clear about the purpose and intent and what you are looking for in the vision. There are many reasons for a Vision Quest, for example:
- You are looking for new direction and inspiration in your life
- You want to resolve inner conflicts that have been holding you back in certain areas of your life
- You want to gain a sense of confidence and inner strength
- You are looking for clarity and solutions to specific problems
- You wish to recover a part of yourself that you may have lost in a relationship or through a traumatic experience
My intention with the Vision Quest was to regain a part of myself that had been lost during a traumatic experience. Towards the end of my journey, the vision took me through various difficult situations from my past and let me relive the respective situation with the integrated part – a very powerful experience!
Breakthrough
Before a breakthrough occurs, energy accumulates, which, although an unpleasant feeling, provides the necessary strength that a breakthrough needs. This I experienced that summer. I felt stuck in my mediumship and didn’t know how to move forward – hence the Vision Quest.
My husband says:
Teachers are like a mirror – they show you something that is inside you and waiting to be developed. As soon as you have learned what there is to learn from them, you go to the next mirror/teacher. This is how you become the medium that YOU are. When the energy feels a little stale, when the courses on offer no longer appeal to you, it is time to move on. You need patience and trust that your future path will reveal itself at the right time.
The Vision Quest has already begun to take effect in my life!
